教学内容:Unit 8 Birthdays Story time

教学目标:

1. 能听懂、会读、会说单词:birthday, eleventh, eighth, April, May, together, game.

2. 能听懂、会读、会说短语:have a big dinner, a birthday cake, eat noodles, have a party, play games.

3. 能听懂、会读、会说日常用语:When’s your birthday? My birthday is on the … of …

4. 能正确的理解并朗读课文,在教师的引导和帮助下尝试复述课文内容。

5. 能清楚地区分中西方国家的人们过生日的文化差异,并谈论自己或他人的生日。

教学设计(主备)

复备

Step 1 Warm up

(1)Enjoy a song : Happy birthday   to you!

(2) Free talk

T: Today we’ll talk about   birthdays.

When we talk about birthdays, what comes to   your mind first?

Ss : A birthday cake, a birthday   song, go shopping, have a birthday party…

Step2  Pre-reading

1.       Let’s talk. Show 2 pictures

T: Today, Miss Li and her   students are talking about their birthdays, too.

    Who are they

l  Look and guess: Su Hai and Mike.

T: When is Su Hai’s birthday?   When is Mike’s birthday?

l  Look and answer: It’s in   _________.(月份)

2.       Let’s listen and learn.

T: We know it’s in May/ Apirl.   But, on which day? Let’s listen.

l  Listen and answer.

T: Look! This is the number “11”/   “8” . Which is the word “eleventh” / “eighth” ?

l  S comes to the front and point   the words.

T: Yes, and they are all ordinal   words.

Can you read the other ordinal   words? Let’s read together!

l  Read from “first” to “fifteen”.

l  Read the answers together.

Step 3 While- reading

T: From the pictures, we know “   Who?” and “When?”. What else do you know from the story? Let’s watch the story.

l  Watch and answer: What do they   do? What do they eat?

1. What does Su Hai do? What   does Su Hai eat?

T: First, let’s talk about Su   Hai’s birthday. What does Su Hai do? What does Su Hai eat?

Please read the first part,   underline your answers.

l  Ss answer the questions, T shows   on the blackboard.

l  Work in 2, make dialogues with   your partner.( Cover some phrases)

A: When’s Su Hai’s birthday?

B: It’s on the eleventh of May.

A: What does Su Hai do on her birthday?

B: She has   a big dinner with Su Yang

     and her family.

     After dinner, she and Su   Yang

     play with Kitty the cat.

A: What does Su Hai eat on her birthday?

B: She eats   some noodles.

2. Retell Part 1.

Look at the mind map, try to   retell the birthday of Su Hai.

l  Ss retell together.

T: So how do Su Hai and Su Yang   feel?

Ss: They have a great time.

3.       Retell Part 2.

What about Mike’s birthday?   Let’s finish the mind map about Mike’s birthday. Then retell.

l  Ss read Part 2 by themselves, finish   the mind map.

l  Retell and check.

T: So, is Mike happy too? Yes!   He has a lot of fun.

4.       Listen and repeat the story.

Step 4 After-reading

1. T: From the story, we know Su   Hai and Su Yang have a big dinner with their family. They eat noodles. But   what about Mike? Mike has a party with friends and families. They play some   games and eat the birthday cake. They do different things on their birthdays,   right?

Why?

S: Because Su Hai is from China.   Mike is from the UK.

T: We are Chinese too. Do you … on your   birthday? But I usually have a big dinner like Su Hai, and eat the birthday   cake like Mike. We usually do all of these things like Su Hai and Mike. We   call it Cultural Integration. What about you?

S: On my birthday, I usually …   like Su Hai/Mike.

l  Ss talk about their birthday   activities.

Ss says, and T writes   on the blackboard.

2. Share your birthday story to   your partner.

* Ss come to the front and   share.

Step 5 Homework

1.       Listen and read the story, try to read it   fluently.

2.       Share your birthday stories to your   friends.

由旧知“月份”引入新知“日期”表达的学习,通过录音、看图对比、朗读等方式学习10以上的序数词,将音、形、义相结合,学生掌握得既快又扎实。

利用思维导图的形式梳理文章脉络既能理清文章基本脉络,又可以给学生建立思维网络,学生学会有目标的、整体的阅读文章,再实践运用到第二段文章的阅读中,读写结合提高学生综合语言运用能力和思维品质。

 

 

 

 

对比文中的关键活动信息,对比发现过生日习俗也有中西文化差异,学生以探究式学习,自主挖掘文化常识,并联系生活实际进行文化融合,将语言习得与语言文化相融合,与朋友分享自己的生日场景。
